This 1977 Jaguar XJ6C was brought to the East Coast from Sacramento, California by the seller in 2013. Subsequent refurbishment and modifications included a repaint in silver as well as fitment of backdated trim including Series I lights and bumpers, new black leather upholstery, custom interior lighting, XJR Asteroid wheels, and more. A new port-injected 350ci V8 was installed in May 2018 by a shop in Miami beach, and sends power to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. A fluid change was carried out in July 2018. This XJ6C was awarded first in class E3 at the 2015 Lime Rock Historic Festival car show, and is now offered with modification records and a clean Florida title.
The seller commissioned a repaint in silver which reportedly included remediation of factory flaws, and alignment of panel gaps. Photos of the car during the paintwork are provided in the gallery below. Alterations include Series I headlights with 7″ primaries and 5.5″ high beams, early brake and turn signal lenses with LED bulbs, and custom LED reverse lights integrated into the rear bumper.
Stainless steel Series I bumpers are color-keyed to the Asteroid wheels, and new tires were reportedly installed in 2018. The seller indicates that the windshield wiper system was rebuilt with new hardware in February 2018. The factory dual fuel tanks are interconnected and can be filled from either side.
The cabin has been reupholstered in black leather with matching carpets and floor mats. Woodwork includes custom mahogany dash and center console panels, gear selector knobs, and a vintage Nardi steering wheel with a Jaguar horn button. The seller has added aftermarket lighting in the footwells, glovebox, and center console as well as gooseneck LED reading lights for the rear seat passengers. An auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated compass has been fitted along with an aftermarket 8-speaker stereo system featuring Bluetooth and an iPhone docking station.
The seller reports that the wiring harness has been replaced, and the air conditioning control unit was rebuilt in July 2018. AutoMeter gauges replace the factory Smiths items, and just over 29k miles are shown on the digital odometer. The seller has added approximately 28k miles during his six-year ownership.
A new port-injected 350ci V8 was reportedly installed by a Miami Beach shop in May 2018 to replace an older version reportedly fitted by the previous owner. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Documentation is reportedly available from the shops that worked on the car under current ownership, and the most recent service included an oil change and new fluids in July 2018.
