Ebay item 4/11/14
www.ebay.com/itm/271450017673
Opening bid $7,000 reserve not met, no bids 5 days left in auction. 83k miles.

Sellers description:
1974 Jaguar XJ12L that I have owned for about 25 years. It was a Florida car. It has the V12 with 4 carburetors. The car has been repainted in the original sable brown and has a new biscuit interior with brown original type wool carpet. The bumpers were replaced with NOS ones that I purchased not long after I bought the car. It has the very rare right side door mirror. The dash has been replaced with a dark burled wood and is in perfect condition. All gauges and switches work. The radio in the pictures has been replaced with a CD player. I had not driven the car in a few years, so last year I replaced all of the calipers, pads, rotors, and emergency brake cable. A new exhaust was installed at that time. As you can see from the pictures, everything is in great condition. It's not a 100 pt show car, but extremely presentable in its present state. I would not hesitate to drive and enjoy this car on a daily basis. These are getting quite rare in their original state; many gave up their engines for XKE replacements and many became V8 conversions because the drivers didn't realize that it takes a little time to warm up 12 quarts of oil before punching the engine hard. I'm selling to fund other restoration projects.

Sellers description;
1974 Jaguar XJ12L Series II LWB Saloon
Only 83,000 Miles
Documented Service History Since The Mid Eighties
Mechanically and Cosmetically Just Restored!
Fully Serviced and Inspected

Please keep in mind that this is a 40 year old Jaguar that is not "flawless" or "mint"(Although pretty close). If you want a "perfect" example this is not the one. This is a WONDERFUL XJ12 Series II that runs and drives beautifully. I have driven it about 200 miles and it has been an absolute pleasure. It stands tall and proud and will give years of pleasure to the lucky winning bidder. I will do the best that I can to describe it's actual condition, which is quite lovely. It has a clean Pa. title that reads "Exempt" for mileage.

This XJ12L has been pampered and loved It's whole life. We have it's ownership history back to the mid 80's, along with a thick file of service history. It is a Fantastic example that is sure to please the winning bidder for many many years to come!!!!!

This particular example was purchased by a local fellow in December of 2014 from the long term previous owner who had it since the early 90's! Due to unforseen circumstances, we were lucky enough to acquire it just days after his purchase! A HUGE amount of work had been recently carried out during 2011-2013, I am guessing, to awaken it from long term storage. We have a large folder of receipts indicating what was done! Looking at the receipts, along with the actual condition of the car, this is what we have determined to have been done by the previous owner before our purchase....

All new braking system to include all four calipers, pads, hoses and rotors(Yes, the rears have been done!!)

Complete new exhaust system

Carburettors rebuilt

Fuel Pumps and switch gear to go from tank to tank have been rebuilt

All fluids and filters changed

It appears to me that the interior has been completely restored to include at least the front and rear seat leather along with a new headliner!! The carpets look original, but very well could have been replaced!

It also looks like the dash wood has been beautifully refinished!

State of the art sound system installed with a Panasonic AM/FM/CD Head unit, and 6 Sony Speakers

There is a receipt from the late 90's for windshield and rear window gaskets.

After our purchase, we finished the restoration to include.......

Poly Urethane Steering Rack Bushings

Both inner and outer tie rod ends

Front Upper control bushings both sides

Four wheel alignment to include adjustment of the ball joints

New transmission Mount

Fresh Oil and filter change with Castrol GTX 20/50W

We now believe This fantastic XJ12L is fully sorted and ready to be enjoyed by it's next lucky custodian!!!

THIS IS THE ONE!!! If you ever wanted one of these Gorgeous Series II XJ12L's, this is your Golden Opportunity.

The exterior is the one and only "Sable Brown" and is just Beautiful. The paint is bright and shiny, and free of damage. It appears to either have been repainted, or at least had some paintwork during it's life. It is absolutely Gorgeous, and appears to be totally rust free. I noticed that it was rustproofed when new. Also, I believe, it has been garaged its entire life. As you will notice in the photos below, the beautiful Chrome Disc wheels just add to this Jaguar's already fabulous appearance.

The interior is the BEST part. It is Tan Leather, with Cinnamon carpets and is just Gorgeous!!! It appears to have been mostly replaced. The seats are almost perfect, and show very little signs of wear. They are still soft and comfy, and smell just fantastic. The Wilton Wool carpets are also quite lovely, and are Gorgeous as well. The dash pad has no cracks. The wood is Fantastic, and appears to have been Beautifully refinished. As with all Jags of this vintage, the headliner was probably sagging, so we assume that it also has been replaced, as it looks new. All of the power features, including the windows(a bit sluggish), and central locking work correctly. The updated sound system is just Awesome. The Air Conditioning blows Ice Cold, and the heat works just fine. All in All a Beautiful Classic Jag that you will be proud to own!!!

As mentioned above, we have just had this Wonderful Jaguar XJ12L Serviced and Safety inspected, along with much other work. The oil and filter have been changed, and a 4 wheel alignment performed. The brakes and exhaust systems are also fresh. The 4 matching whitewall radials are about 70%, and ride nice and smooth. They are older, and should be replaced for long distance, high speed driving. There are service records from the last 2 owners.. The famous "Highline Detail Services" has performed their usual magic, and the car is just Beautiful!! This is a rare opportunity to own one of the finest automobiles available in the world. It is mechanically and cosmetically in excellent condition and will give the lucky winning bidder many years of enjoyment.
