This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas was refurbished under previous ownership in metallic beige over beige leather upholstery, and it was subsequently acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. Powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a retrofitted five-speed manual transmission, the car is equipped with 15″ wire wheels, tinted windows, wood veneer interior trim, power mirrors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Kenwood stereo head unit linked with a trunk-mounted amplifier. Work under current ownership is said to have included replacing the clutch, fluid changes, and bypassing the oil cooler. This XJ6 shows 115k miles and is now offered at no reserve in Florida with a clean Carfax report and a clean Illinois title.

The car was finished from the factory in Satin Beige Metallic (AGA) and it was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. The Leaper ornament has been deleted from the hood, and additional exterior details include a sunroof, European-specification quad headlights, tinted windows, Vanden Plas badging, and polished dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance. Blemishes are visible on the front end, cloudiness is noted in the inboard headlights, the badges are mounted low on the trunk lid, and the left exhaust tip is in need of adjustment.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels wear 205/70 Sigma Shadow tires, and a full-size alloy spare is stowed below the cargo floor in the trunk. The car is equipped with an independent suspension and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The front brake calipers were repainted and the brake fluid was flushed in preparation for the sale. The selling dealer notes spots of corrosion on the inner portion of the wheels.

The refurbished interior features beige on the seats, and high-gloss wood veneer accents on the dashboard, doors, and console. Additional appointments included power mirrors, automatic climate control, a trunk-mounted American Legacy amplifier, and a Kenwood stereo head unit with satellite radio connectivity.

The burl wood-trimmed steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 115k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. The oil and coolant were changed in preparation for the sale, and the selling dealer reports that the oil cooler was bypassed and removed at that time.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Borg Warner T-5 manual transmission that was retrofitted under previous ownership. A replacement clutch disc and pressure plate were installed in 2023, according to the selling dealer.
