Ebay item 6/16/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-XJ6-Jaguar-Project-Car-Continued-/270766605255
Opening bid $1,200, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. 100k+ miles.

Sellers description:
This Jaguar had been parked in a garage in late 06. It Did have a valid inspection sticker in place when parked. The owners intension was to continually make repairs and alterations to the vehicle over a period of time. (ie: "Outer Body paint then onto repairs where or as needed, mechanically, and mostly on the interior where work was needed"). All went to plan with the mechanical repairs at a foreign car specialty shop named Merrymen's Custom Cars, in our local regeion. Up to Late 06 when it was parked due to illness in the family. Mechanical repairs were mostly all done on the engine, and drive line. Interior make over was never started, as well as the paint or bodywork planned to be done. Everything was put on hold. The car has been sitting in a garage since. This time was not good for the vehicle. When opening the doors to remove it from the garage we find a few complications, The car did start right up as was expected but then quickly stopped. This is the current situation. Will only run for a few moments after being left sit awhile ??? No clue whats with that. Definately is a gas thing....Mechanic says too, Bad Gas and filter most likely, due to sitting. Also....For some reason we cannot get the automatic transmission to release into neutral..? Mechanic says cable from shifter to transmission is most likely rusted up from sitting. Very easily accessible/ We have not tried to mess with this to this point. We will be trying to get this working if possible t some point . I guess it may need hauled on a roll-back, or trailered, if someone is interested in this immediately...? PLEASE NOTE: The buyer will be responsible to pick this vehicle up at our location.

Very Disappointing situation....in either case as with this condition now and the time and money spent on this car up to 06.... The interior nor the bodywork was never started as stated. Tires are next to new, as was required with inspection in Mid 06. They are a bit low from sitting and may need re-mounted or run on. The Battery is less that a week old. We bought one to get it out to sell. We have been told that the car could be worth a good amount parted out, if interested.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
