This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 was reportedly sold new at Crown Jaguar in St. Petersburg, Florida and spent time in California with its original owner, from whom it was acquired by the seller in 2019. Finished in metallic red over grey, the car now shows just 27k miles and is powered by a 4.2L inline-six paired to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include an onboard computer, rear climate control, cassette radio, sunroof, power windows, and power mirrors. Work performed by the seller included replacing the head gasket, performing a valve job, refreshing the cooling system, servicing the brakes, and converting the A/C system to R134a. This XJ6 is offered by the seller at no reserve with maintenance records, a Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in Claret Metallic and features brightwork on the bumpers, fuel caps, mirrors, grille, door handles, and door trim. Exterior features include a “leaper” hood ornament, a power antenna, and a sunroof. The rear decklid was repainted by the seller, who notes that rust repair was also completed around the rear windshield seal and paintless dent removal has been performed around the body.
Factory 15-inch “Kent” alloy wheels are wrapped in 215/70 series Ironman GR906 tires showing 2018 date codes, and a matching spare is housed in the trunk. Receipts show that the steering rack and suspension bushings were replaced and the brakes have been serviced.
The interior is trimmed in light grey with leather seats, matching door panels, and carpets. Wood veneer accents the dashboard and center stack, and a replacement headliner has been installed. Features include an onboard computer, cassette stereo, automatic climate control, and power windows. The heater control valve was replaced and the A/C system was serviced and converted to run R134a refrigerant.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an instrument cluster that includes a 5,500-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and a mechanical odometer that shows 27k miles, only 150 of which were added by the seller.
The 4.2L inline-six sends power to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. Receipts total over $13k and include replacement of the head gasket and a valve job in 2018, along with a refresh of the cooling system with a replacement water pump, thermostat, and radiator hoses in 2019. The fuel tanks were cleaned and the hoses and pump were also replaced in 2018.
The May 2020 Carfax report shows an accident in September 1986 involving left side impact with another vehicle and displays history in Florida and California through its most recent entry in September 2019
