Ebay item 7/25/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-Jaguar-XJ6-Sedan-4-Door-4-2L-Series-III-/2009463026 ...
Opening bid $2,500 reserve not met 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 38k miles.

Sellers description:
Has original pinstripes applied by the selling dealer
Interior - Not a scratch or blemish on seats, doors, dashboard, carpets, mats, etc. Leather and wood are perfect

All gauges work
Front seats fully adjustable manually (front-back and recline), also has an electric switch which doesn't react Radio, electric antenna, trip computer, electric windows, central locking, cruise control all working

Excellent oil pressure - over 40 psi at idle hot

Engine runs cool even in 90 degree weather - temp gauge never goes over halfway (90C.) No engine work ever Smooth and quiet motor, quiet exhaust system Transmission upshifts, downshifts like new
Excellent brakes, no pulling, no pulsing, very powerful

Original Pirelli P5 tires have about 6mm tread remaining in front, 3mm rear, no vibration or imbalance, no signs of aging or cracking

Car tracks in a straight line beautifully - no wandering or pulling - tight steering

Battery is only nine months old - purchased from AAA - under warranty

Have ALL service records from new - almost always serviced by Jaguar dealer except for batteries

Car has been driven less than 400 miles in the last 11 years. It was never driven in winter and stored in a heated garage, covered with a Budge fitted car cover (included)

Now the bad parts:
A/C has lost its charge from lack of use
Sunroof doesn't open, but the motor works, so the problem might be a broken cable
A loud rattle in the left front going over bumps - don't know what it is - maybe bushings, tie rod ends, spring mounting?

The car was first delivered in September 1983 to my lifelong friend who passed away last month. He leased the car from the Jaguar dealer for three years, then purchased it. His widow wants the car sold and has entrusted me to sell it. All service records and documentation are included with the car.

The only thing I have done to the car was to replace the sagging headliner, except for the sunroof which doesn't open (included with the car is a roll of new matching headliner material for the sunroof).

Complete with all original books, manuals, warranty information, wiring diagrams, window sticker, etc.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
