Purchased new at Whittlesey Jaguar in Torrance, California, now located in Buellton, California, this outstandingly well preserved and presented 1987 Jaguar XJ6 has clearly enjoyed limited ownership with just one California-based owner from new. With a sticker price of $37,500, this Jaguar came one way – fully loaded with a wide array of standard features that were considered optional by other manufacturers. Just under 26k original have been covered from new, and an accompanying CARFAX vehicle-history report shows California-mandated emissions testing and some service history. Having suffered no accidents, this XJ6 has been sparingly driven since 2009 and registered as ‘Non-Op’ since 2018. Further desirable documentation includes registration paperwork, the original window sticker, and service and maintenance records.

This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 remained registered in California with its original owner until May 2023 and was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2023, and it now shows 26k miles. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and it is finished in Arctic Blue over blue leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes, a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows and locks. Service in preparation for the sale is said to have included an oil change, an R134a refrigerant conversion, and replacing the air conditioning compressor, heater valve, front ball joints, sway bar link bushings, spark plugs, and tires. Factory 15″ alloy wheels with Jaguar center caps wear 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that are said to have been installed in preparation for the sale. The car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension and power-assisted disc brakes. The selling dealer reports that the front upper and lower ball joints were replaced under current ownership along with the sway bar link bushings and front upper strut tower bushings.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in blue leather and are complemented by wood veneer trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Appointments include an AM/FM cassette stereo, automatic climate control, and power windows and locks.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 26k miles.

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale, and the selling dealer reports that the air conditioning system was converted to function with R134a refrigerant and the air conditioning compressor, heater valve, receiver drier, temperature sensor, thermostat, valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, spark plugs, and other gaskets were replaced at that time.

Manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, and four keys are included in the sale.
