    Ebay item 5/8/11
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Amazing-All-Original-1982-Jaguar-Saloon-76K-miles-/25081 ...
Opening bid $2,500, no bids yet 2 days left in auction. 76k miles.

    Sellers description:
I am regrettably selling my 1982 XJ6, because I cant afford to park a second car anymore due to unforseen economic difficulties. No reserve and low starting bid! The starting bid is way lower than I paid for this 5 months ago.

I am the thrid owner. Southern California (no rust anywhere!) car since brought from over the pond in '82, and was always garage kept... it shows. The car runs great. The only way I can describe the ride is that it's like driving a pillow mounted on cream puffs. I would have no hesitation to drive this from San Diego to Vegas again with three friends (back seat is huge). The engine is strong, tranny is solid, and suprisingly well behaved and functional electronics. I put a bunch into it when I first got it to get the mechanical systems "like new" by a local San Diego Jaguar shop. I have every single service record since 1982!!! This car was obviously cared for well and never sat.... driven at least once a week. Comes with the factory original car cover, which is in perfect condition. All lights (internal and external) work well. All accessories work, except the power attenna doesnt raise and the cruise control sometimes works and sometimes doesnt, other than that, the car is pretty much like new. The AC works but needs to have a connection on the compressor re-soldered... easily accessible and 30 sec job, but I dont have a soldering iron so the wire comes detached while driving... but a simple solder will fix it. The leather is in great condition for 30 years old. There is a slight wear through on the back of the driver seat and the stiching in the back seats starting to pull in some parts but there is no foam visible and no rips. The paint is excellent, but the clear coat is a bit dull on the roof and hood... it's not really noticable and super cheap to have a new coat of clear put on it. The carpet and dash are impeccable!!! The wood is an amazing grain and 100% perfect.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
