This 1972 Jaguar XJ6 is finished in British Racing Green over a tan leather interior and is powered by a 350ci V8 that was installed under previous ownership along with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes an aftermarket multimedia stereo, dual exhaust outlets, and power windows. The car was acquired by the seller in October 2019, and service performed under current ownership has included the installation of a Series III XJ6-sourced steering rack along with the replacement of the water pump, oil pan gasket, and brake booster. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with partial service records and a clean Kansas title in the seller’s name.
The exterior was refinished in its current shade of British Racing Green under previous ownership, and it features chrome bumpers with overriders, body side moldings, dual exhaust outlets, and “5.7L LT1” badges. Areas of rust, distressed paint, and other blemishes around the body are documented.
Chrome 15″ wheels wear factory center caps and are wrapped in 215/65 Goodyear Eagle GT tires with thin whitewalls. A steering rack sourced from a Series III XJ6 was installed, the lower steering shaft, brake booster, pedal switch, and tie rods were replaced, and the front suspension was lowered in 2020, at which point an alignment was performed.
The seats were reupholstered in tan leather and the door panels were replaced under current ownership. Equipment includes a heater, power windows, a multimedia stereo, and wood veneers on the dash and center stack. The headliner is missing, cracks are noted in the dashboard, and missing interior panels are visible.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 5,500-rpm tachometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates 58k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The factory engine was replaced with a fuel-injected 350ci L98 V8 reportedly sourced from a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette. The water pump and oil pan gasket were replaced and an oil change was performed in October 2020. The seller states that a vacuum leak is present and the engine stalls at idle intermittently.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
