This 1975 Jaguar XJ6C was the subject of a convertible conversion in the 1980s that also included the installation of a 350ci V8 and a four-speed automatic transmission. Following the current owner’s 2022 acquisition, it underwent a refurbishment completed this year that saw the black soft top and its hydraulics replaced, Euro-style bumpers installed, reconditioning of the Caramel leather interior, and a partial repaint of the black metal flake finish. The car features 15” Dayton wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and independent front and rear suspension, while the cabin is trimmed in burl walnut and equipped with automatic climate control, power windows, and a Kenwood CD stereo. This Series II XJ6C convertible is offered on dealer consignment at no reserve by a BaT Local Partner with a set of Kent alloy wheels, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean California title.
The two-door body rides on a 108.8″ wheelbase and was converted to a convertible in 1982, which the selling dealer tells us was performed by coachbuilders Martin Loge and Marc Lasky in California. The roof was removed, a power-operated soft top was installed, and the body was finished in a black metal flake.
Following the seller’s acquisition, the bumper mounting brackets and soft top hydraulics were replaced and Euro-style bumpers and a custom black soft top that features a mohair headliner were installed. In 2026, the door glass was replaced, the soft top frame was repaired, and the hood, cowl panel, trunk lid, front fenders, doors, rear quarter panels, and cowl panel were repainted prior to clearcoat being applied.
The 15” Dayton wire-spoke wheels are mounted with Travelstar tires, and spokes on one wheel were replaced in April 2025. Stopping power is provided by ventilated front and sold rear disc brakes and the car is further equipped with an independent front and rear suspension. The power-steering system was rebuilt in October 2023.
The cabin is trimmed in Caramel leather, which was replaced on the seats in 2017 and dyed in 2024 along with center console lid, while the door panels were dyed in 2026. The driver and front-passenger seat cushions were replaced in 2024 and 2026, respectively, the headrest foam has been repaired, and the dashboard pad has been replaced. Interior features include burl wood accents, automatic climate control, and a Kenwood CD stereo linked to aftermarket speakers.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 35k miles.
The 350ci Chevrolet V8 was installed during the initial build in the 1980s, and it is equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor, Performer EPS intake manifold, air cleaner, and valve covers. In 2023, the dual fuel tanks, fuel lines, spark plugs, and distributor cap and rotor were replaced, along with the engine mounts, alternator, regulator, starter, EGR sensor, lower coolant pipe, belts and fan relay harness. The ignition switch was replaced in September 2025, and the hood insulation was replaced in January 2026.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a General Motors 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
A set of four Kent alloy wheels are included in the sale.
