Car was at auction in 2015

Auction description:
Lot 264 - 1978 Jaguar XJ6S Sedan
VIN: UJ2T74259BW
Mileage: 82,092

Same owner since the early eighties, this Series II SJ6 is the rare "L" or 'long-wheel base' model. Made when chrome was still king it features all the extra bells and whistles that disappeared in the Series III and IV. Finished in silver with Oxblood Connolley leather hides, the car is spectacular visually as well as on the road. Coupled with the beautiful wood dash are the traditional Smiths gauges. Indeed this car behaves as well as it looks.

Always maintained by Complete Automotive, Seattle's top import service and sales facility, since its purchase by the current owner, this car is sadly being sold by the proud local owner who kept this car in such spectacular condition for 33 years. This legacy is an opportunity for a new buyer now

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
