Sellers description:
Lot #588
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Chassis: UJ2R59095
80.570 miles
Three owners from new
Original paint and interior
Recent service and inspection

This 1978 Jaguar XJ12L is a very original example that has been with the seller for 10 years. The car has had just three long-term owners from new with 80k original miles on the odometer. This a long-wheelbase V12 example that the seller say starts easily and runs well with none of the common reliability issues experienced with poorly maintained examples. He has driven it around 10k miles and maintained it properly. The car was last serviced in September 2014 which included a full inspection resulting in fitment of two new fuel injectors, one fuel injector supply hose, a hose clamp and an oil/filter change.

The interior has been maintained with original Connolly leather. The driver's seat is worn with deeper creases but the passenger and rear seats show only light wear. Wilton wool carpets are clean and the headliner does not sag. The dash has no cracks and wood veneers and chrome all look very nice. The A/C does not work but lights, gauges, and switchgear are all functional.

The 5.3 liter, 245 HP V12 is all stock with 80,570 miles from new. The seller has put around 10k miles on the car over course of his 10 year ownership, primarily using it for sunny weekend drives. He says it starts easily with an even idle and runs well with torquey throttle response. The GM 3-speed automatic is said to shift smoothly between all gears. The recent inspection identified a minor coolant leak and a minor steering fluid leak. The shop said to keep an eye on it but said it did not need immediate attention, and the seller has continued to drive it without issue.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
