Ebay item 7/8/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XJ6-Long-Wheelbase-1977-Jaguar-XJ6L-81k-miles-4-2L-owned ...
Current bid $1,582 reserve not met 17 bids 4 days left in auction. 81k miles.

Sellers description:
I bought this Jaguar in 25 years ago in 1989 from the second owner. I have restored the body, engine and transmission. Everything works including the automatic climate controls and A/C. I have all the receipts for the past 25 years and it is in great condition inside and out. I have always kept it in the garage and have kept everything original. I have kept all the original parts in boxes that have been replaced.

There are too many things to list that have been done on the car, but here are the highlights.

Engine: Rebuilt the carbs last summer and it runs great. Starts up right away, cold or hot. Has good oil pressure and lots of power. It has been upgraded with a Jag XKE distributor with an Allison electronic ignition and I have the original distributor with the Lucas electronic ignition (the XJ6L and the XKE have the same engine). I had a valve job done on it with new head gasket and tappet hold down kit with a valve clearance adjustment.

Transmission: The transmission has been rebuilt and shifts smoothly.

Body: The paint is original and is in great condition. I had the rocker panels replaced and one floor board so it is rust free. The headliner has also been replaced.

Interior: The leather is in good condition overall. The thread in the seam of the drivers seat has come out (it is about 6 inches long), but it can be resown without replacing the leather. It can be seen in the pictures. The leather above the rear seats has small tears in it.

Wheels: The tires have low miles and the rims are in good condition except one is bent but can be fixed at a rim shop. The bent rim is used as a spare tire.

Sellers description:
Rare series II in great condition with only 81k miles. Bought it from second owner in 1989 and kept it in good working order and garaged. Selling because I have too many cars. Original engine, transmission and leather interior. Rebuilt the carbs last summer and it starts right up, hot or cold, and runs great. Rebuilt transmission at 70k miles. Rebuilt head and valves around 70k miles. Body is straight, no accidents. New 134a refrigerant, A/C compressor and dryer. Automatic climate control works great. I had the rocker panels and driver and passenger floor boards professionally replaced in the 90s. Rust free (see pics of bottom of car). Last month flushed cooling system and refilled with new coolant. Rides smooth, suspension and tires are in good condition. Paint is in good condition. Both fuel tanks and fuel pumps work. Have all receipts since 1989. It just needs a good new home.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
