Ebay item 9/29/09

Opening bid $1,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. 100k miles.

Sellers description:
This is a beautiful Jaguar that was restored in 1995 to almost show condition, but meant to be a driver. The motor was converted to a 350 V8 and has less than 15,000 miles on the rebuilt motor. The body was stripped and painted, new leather interior, removable face cassette stereo with a 6 disk CD changer, woofers, tweeters, amp, and sub, custom wheels, low profile tires, lowered, new carpet, transmission, some electrical work, and the wood dash refinished. This is a smoke free car that after years of enjoyment with the family has suffer some small or miner scratches, dings, and small bubbling of the paint on some of the wheel wells. I don't believe anything out of the ordinary for an older restoration, especially with kids around, and a car driven for a lot of head turning fun! The car has always been stored in a garage since the restoration, but has been exposed to driving in the rain (WA State) but never in the snow. There is a little rusting around the cracked paint where some jack @$$ tried to pull the Jaguar emblem off the hood, but it doesn't look too bad. FEATURES: The power windows run a little slow, but they all work. I think the AC needs a recharge even though the air is cool. There is a remote for the stereo, and a radar detector that I have never used. There is a kill switch installed for security hidden on the side of the dash. There is a security system that was installed, but disconnected, I am not really sure why. I have a new ignition switch and keys that I was told might be needed, but I have had no problems. There are a about two or three extra cartridges for the CD changer. HISTORY: The car was purchased and restored by a family member. I believe he was the second owner of the car. He had a total of just under $50K on the restoration and ended up trading the car away. I was able to get the car back when I found out it was available. The XJ12L is a very difficult car to find, and once you see it, you know exactly why. Both guys and gals go out of their way to comment on this car. This is a sleek and sexy driver!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
