Lot #114222

This 1976 Jaguar XJ12L was acquired by the seller in 1978, and modifications performed since 1999 involved installing a 400ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Finished in silver over blue leather, the car is equipped with a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a custom air-intake system, a limited-slip differential, a single-piece driveshaft, 17″ polished wheels, revised power steering and fuel-system components, and Brembo front brake rotors as well as aftermarket hood louvers, European-style headlights, LED exterior bulbs, chrome trim, reverse sensors, burred wood trim, air conditioning, an alarm system, a MOMO steering wheel, aftermarket cupholders, and a Bluetooth-enabled Kenwood stereo. This modified XJ12L is now offered with spare parts, a service manual, modification documentation, and a Georgia title in the seller’s name.

The seller notes that the body was refinished in its current shade of silver in 1988. Modifications include hood louvers, rear parking sensors, a third brake light in the rear window, and European-style headlights. LED daytime running lights were installed along with LED brake lights, reverse lights, and rear turn signals. The lower fascias and rocker panels have chipped paint, and rust spots on the fenders, rocker panels, and right windshield pillar are displayed in the gallery below.

Machine-finished 17″ wheels sourced from a newer Jaguar are mounted with 255/45 Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires. A space-saver spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is fitted with a revised power steering rack, power brake booster, and reservoir. Brembo rotors are reportedly installed in the front, and a TCI Automotive Roll Stop front brake solenoid is installed.

Blue leather upholstery covers the seating surfaces and is joined by color-coordinated replacement carpets installed over sound-deadening insulation. The driver’s seat rail was modified to allow adjustment for taller occupants, revised seat belts were installed, and further additions include a pair of folding cup holders on the face of the dash, a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood stereo, LED interior lighting, an indicator for the rear parking sensors, and an alarm system with remote locking. The burred wood trim was refinished under current ownership and extends to the dash, center console, and shift knob. The air conditioning was reconfigured by the seller and converted to use R134a refrigerant, and a video detailing its operation is included below. The left-rear window binds when being operated, and the top of the driver’s door panel upholstery is cracked.

The MOMO steering wheel wears a Jaguar center emblem and fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An electronic speedometer conversion was performed, and the tachometer was reportedly recalibrated to be compatible with the V8. Indicators for the cooling fan voltage and low fuel pressure were added. The six-digit odometer shows 212k miles, though the seller notes an estimated 270k miles were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 400ci V8 was installed in 1999 and features a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, an auxiliary oil cooler, a 200-amp alternator, a dual-flow PCV valve, and “ram’s horn” exhaust manifolds. A Griffin Performance aluminum radiator is accompanied by dual electric fans, and a custom air intake system utilizes a dual-inlet aluminum plenum above the radiator. The engine valves were reportedly replaced in 2016, and the engine was resealed in 2022 according to the seller. The fuel system uses an electric fuel pump and an aftermarket pressure regulator, and the dual fuel tanks are connected in parallel. The battery was relocated to the trunk, and an auxiliary fuse panel was added under the hood.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was installed in 2004 along with a single-piece driveshaft and a 3.54:1 limited-slip differential, per the seller. The transmission is reportedly fitted with an 11″ clutch and a billet flywheel.

Spare parts, including a windshield and rear glass panel, two wheels, chrome trim, lighting lenses, and electrical components are included. Shop manuals and modification documentation accompany the car.

The Georgia title is listed as a replacement.
