Ebay item 9/4/22

www.ebay.com/itm/295198263412

Current bid: $10,000 reserve not met 1 bid 6 days left in auction, seller bee_jay_7, 99k miles.

Seller's description:

Purchased in 2001, I drove this XJ6 Coupe for several years before spinning a bearing in the bottom end. I disassembled the engine had the block and heads machined and then had to let it sit while my 3 children went thru their college years. During that time, I saw an article on the XJ6 Coupe that detailed its evolution from the 1973 prototype thru the last ones in 1977. I was so impressed by the original prototype I decide to make a copy of it. I purchase a 1973 XJ6 (4 door/engine was shot) out of California in 2015 and pulled off all the relevant body pieces to make the swap. Three years later I had the car you see in the following pictures.

1976 Jaguar XJ6 Coupe

· 1973 front clip, fenders, hood bumper.

· 1973 rear bumper

· Engine rebuilt in 2018 with 20 over 9:1 XKE pistons.

· Head disassembled, machined, rebuilt, valve clearances set.

· New exhaust from manifold to exhaust tips 2018

· Rebuilt carbs in 2021

· New fuel pumps and fuel gauge senders 2020

· Pertronix coil and distributor 2019

· Painted, new windshield, and vinyl top replaced in 2018

· Original radiator re-cored with modern core material and fan clutch replaced 2020

· New King lowering springs front and rear 2018

· New front rotors and calipers 2018.

· New brake booster and master cylinder 2021

· New rear rotors, rear calipers, shocks front and rear 2022

· 16 X 8 Dayton spoke wheels off 1995 XJ6 VDP

· New 225/60/R16 Michelins 2022

· New steering rack 2020

· New alternator 2020

· Air conditioning converted to R134 2018

· Retrosound “LAGUNA” stereo

Interior, carpet, differential and drive line parts are original. Walnut dash is immaculate. Transmission shifts solidly. Car is solid driver. Winner of many local car shows.

Minor problems include a speedometer not working. Air conditioning does not blow cold, probably has a leak somewhere. Have not chased it down.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
