This 1975 Jaguar XJ6C is one of a limited number of 2-door coupes produced in the mid-1970s and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller acquired the car from Southern California two years ago and believe himself its third owner. Service performed under current ownership included installation of a new brake master cylinder, fuel pumps, and wood dash panel, while previous records are said to date to 1976 and indicate rebuilds of the transmission and differential, a repaint, replacement of the vinyl top, and more. This XJ6C is offered with a set of stock wheels, extra parts, manuals and literature, and a clean Kentucky title.
The body was reportedly repainted and a new vinyl top was installed under previous ownership at 93k miles. Photos in the gallery show the current state of the finish under various lighting conditions. Weatherstrip around the doors, door windows, and trunk were replaced last year.
Chrome aftermarket 17″ wheels wear Yokohama tires, and a photo of the included stock wheels can be seen in the gallery. The brake master cylinder was replaced in 2017 according to the seller.
The seats are upholstered in red leather with pleated inserts, and velour carpeting covers the floor. Upholstery, carpeting and the headliner are said to have been replaced by the previous owner at 94k miles. A rip is noted on the driver's side of the center console. The rear power windows were repaired in 2017 according to the seller. The seller notes that the heater does not work well and though the air conditioning compressor was replaced under previous ownership, the system does not blow cold.
The dashboard features new walnut panels and houses six Smiths gauges including an odometer showing 25 miles. Records reportedly suggest that the odometer has rolled once. The driver-side remote mirror cable and windshield wiper switch were recently replaced, and LED instrument lights have been installed. The seller suspects that an aftermarket antenna is to blame for poor radio reception.
The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six sends power through a 3-speed automatic transmission and on to the rear differential, the latter two of which are said to have been rebuilt at 93k miles. The carburetors were also rebuilt at the time, while the fuel pumps were replaced in 2016.
The sale includes several workshop manuals, a collection of spare parts, and a binder of service records.
