Ebay item 1/15/16
www.ebay.com/itm/161947274718
Current bid US $3,938 reserve not met 13 bids 6 days left in auction. Seller imadusty, 60k miles.

Sellers description:
1976 jaguar xj6c with Chevrolet v8 from IROC Camaro with 700 r transmission. posi traction rear end. I have owned this car for a few years now and I did not do the conversion but have done most everything else. first off this is a solid car that was not the typical coupe rust bucket. there was rust in the floor board pan on drivers side and I had that cut out and replaced with a correct panel. couple of other miner spots that were also cut out and steel welded back in. the car is an original red car and was resprayed about 2 years ago. good quality you can read your watch in it. garage kept. the paint looks new. chrome is in good shape. INTERIOR well way to much money was spent here! I had correct seat leather made for front and rear all leather and then my upholstery man said " hey we should do the door panels, the rear panels, the console, the kick panels in real 100% leather also" great idea and it looks fantastic! the bill nearly made me pass out! I do have to say though it does look great. Ice cold air . new heater core but I checked the heater the other day and it didn't come on. more than likely a relay or servo or I didn't give it enough time. the left rear window was working but I noticed it did not work either. I don't want a car that's not ready to go so there is an extensive list of things done and I'm sure more that I'm forgetting so here goes.

all listed below was put in new less than 3 years ago.

brakes all the way around with rotors and pads. master cylinder. shocks all the way around(6). heater core. fuel injectors. fresh full leather interior. paint.

sway bar bushing. radio and speakers. this radio has cd, usb , ipod plug in-- nice radio-- new tires a few years old but with hardly any miles on them.

items rebuilt include

brake booster. steering rack , 700 R transmission. full alignment

as you can see everything was done to make the car a daily driver the positraction is courtesy of a xjs . the engine is strong and sound with true duel exhaust system custom built for the car. this jaguar drives, rides , and handles like new! remember its 40 years old so IT is NOT A NEW CAR. I would not hesitate to drive the car any where. HUGE attention getter. as you know it is said there are not 200 xj6c left in the united states this is a nice quality rare car that has the GM reliability but could easily have the inline 6 placed back into it as it was not "cut up" to install the engine. I encourage buyers to ask questions this car is selling as is where is there is no warranty. you are welcome to come out and look at it by appointment. I have a car lift available to me if you want to look under it. clean Texas title in my name.

Current bid: $2,175 reserve not met 3 bids 9 days left in auction, seller murpho, 89k miles, same location.

Seller's description:

Incredibly, the story begins with a retired Delta Airline service technician with just over 50 years of service! The Delta aircraft maintenance folks have a local (Atlanta metro area) reputation for being among the most competent and skilled mechanics you will ever find. Many of them use those skills on classic cars when they retire, and that is exactly what brings us to this very sharp 1976 Jaguar XJ6 Coupe that you see here.

The owner acquired the car in mid-2019. He was thoughtful about his goals with the car…he did NOT want an over-restored “trailer queen”. Instead, he wanted a sharp looking driver that would have the famed reliability and power of a Chevy small-block V8, cold A/C, smooth automatic transmission, and modernized audio. Though the paint was old – and had quite a few imperfections “here and there all over” – it did polish-up rather nicely with a good shine. Going down the street, it is very sharp-looking…and could easily be mistaken for a high-level show-car as it glides by…it is only upon closer examination that it is apparent that it is “driver-quality”. The interior has some age patina/wear but boasts a striking dash (faux wood reproduction replacement panels) and a beautiful headliner that looks/feels like suede.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2-YEAR “DRIVER” MAKEOVER

1988 CAMARO Z28 V8…rebuilt/bored out .030 over to est. 325 cid

PERFORMANCE ROLLER CAM

FLAT-TOP/HIGH COMPRESSION PISTONS

CORVETTE ALUMINUM HEADS…big valves

700R4 REBUILT TRANSMISSION…with new Corvette Torque Converter

REBUILT JAGUAR XJS POSITRACTION REAR-END

NEW BRAKE CALIPERS/ROTORS

REBUILT RACK & PINION STEERING

EXTENSIVE RE-WIRING

IMPORTED HIGH-END STEERING WHEEL

NEW POWER WINDOW MOTORS

ALL INSTRUMENTS SERVICED/RE-WIRED (LED LIGHTS)

NEW SENDING UNITS

NEW DIGITAL RADIO

MK IV HEATER…rebuilt with new heater core

COLD A/C…with Jag-Aire controls

FUELS TANKS REMOVED/CLEANED/COATED (POR-15)…unified tanks

TOYO SPECTRUM TOURING RADIALS…P215/70R15 97S

The rebuilt engine/transmission/brakes make for a delightful driving experience - all the “looks” you could ask for - but now with the reliability of American V8 power and a proven automatic to make cruising effortless. A/C has nice cold air (Note, a modern system with Jag-Aire was installed – so not all of the old controls are needed/operable). Gauges, power windows, external lights, horn, A/C, wipers, radio, and clock (accuracy not verified) were all operational.

ITEMS NOT OPERATIONAL: Lighters, windshield washers, reverse lights, dual tank switch are not operative (Note: dual tank switch was defeated when the twin tanks were connected/joined).

QUIRKS/SPECIAL NOTES: Nearly every car of this vintage will have some “quirks”, and this car is no exception. The outside vent grille near the center of the windshield is simply “sitting” in its well…there is nothing attaching it. The electronic engine management “box” is sitting (loose) in the dash glove compartment (along with a red lamp/circuit breaker) to protect them from engine compartment heat. The power windows worked well - but have thermal breakers to protect the motors - so if a window stops, wait awhile and it will likely work fine after having some time to cool. There is some looseness in the radio mounting, and the rear passengers’ window control switch assembly.

The side and rear windows have aged tint film that has wrinkled/faded. There are also scratches on the glass – mainly side windows. Please see the images at right.

V12 NOTE…though you will see that a “V12” insignia has been affixed to the console, the VIN aligns with 6 cylinder models…as does the title. We have no reason to believe (based on VIN research and the “XJ6C” designation on the title) that a V12 was ever installed in this car.

SUMMARY: This car is a magnificent survivor that has been “saved” by its current owner. The vast majority of 1976 automobiles no longer exist in ANY condition! The new owner should expect that most ALL classic cars of this vintage are works in progress. There will likely ALWAYS be something that needs attention, maintenance, and/or replacement/repair. There is no perfect example…and how close to perfect it may become depends on the owner’s attitude, talent, time to invest, and monetary resources. The new owner is, in effect, the next caretaker – because like a family pet – this classic is entirely dependent upon its owner for survival!

IMPERFECTIONS: If you are looking for a pristine concours-quality classic…this car is not for you. The primary investments in this rare Jaguar were not cosmetic, rather – they were intended to make the car an enjoyable “driver”! There are paint/leather/chrome/etc. flaws throughout the car. The target buyer profile is: a longtime admirer of the Jaguar XJ6 who has been afraid to buy one due to the well-known Lucas electric and engine problems of the originals.  Many hours/dollars have been invested in mechanical/electrical work needed to make this such an enjoyable classic to drive.
