Ebay item 11/3/08
www.jag-lovers.org/xjlovers/coupes.html
for more info on these rare cars.

The odometer reads 57,975 miles and appears to be original. And don’t let the V12 scare you…it is basically a very strong and robust all aluminum engine. This one runs cool, holds good oil pressure and starts and runs effortlessly.

The real distinguishing feature of this particular coupe is that it has no signs of rust anywhere – fenders, floors, trunk, rockers, doors, wheel arches are all solid original metal; no evidence of any rust removal surgery that I could find.

My intent was to retrofit this car to a 5-speed manual transmission and make some sort of a British muscle car out of it, but my interests have changed. In the meantime, I collected a bunch of NOS parts, and I’ll throw all these parts in with the car (which really doesn’t need them, but I’m a nut for NOS parts) That’s over $2,500 in new parts, most of which are no longer available, especially for the XJ coupes.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
