This 1975 Jaguar XJ12C coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and it is finished in maroon with a black roof and tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes fuel injection, dual fuel tanks, chrome bumpers, chrome-finished 15″ wheels, dual exhaust outlets, power windows, air conditioning, a Nardi steering wheel, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The car was reportedly purchased by the seller’s neighbor in 1980 and was acquired in 1995 by the seller, who is said to have kept the car stored and driven it only occasionally. This XJ12C pillarless coupe now shows 38k miles and is offered with a removed factory steering wheel, a spare distributor cap, two service manuals, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in maroon and features a black vinyl roof, quad headlights, fog lights, a retractable antenna, bright side moldings and window trim, and chrome bumpers with rubber inserts. Paint imperfections are noted around the body.
Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and wear older 215/70 Dunlop Elite narrow-whitewall tires. The car is equipped with independent suspension at all four corners and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features seating for four trimmed in tan leather with color-coordinated door panels and brown carpets. Amenities include a wood veneer dashboard panel, a rear cabin air vent, a heated rear window, air conditioning, Jaguar-branded floor mats, power windows, and a Technics AM/FM cassette stereo. Sagging in the headliner is noted. The seller notes the air conditioning system engages, but does not blow cold air.
A wood-trimmed Nardi steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 244 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque and features electronic fuel injection and dual throttle bodies. The seller notes that the engine would benefit from a tune-up and fuel injector service, and that oil drips are present under the engine compartment. The most recent oil change was performed around 2012 according to the seller, who states it has only been driven occasionally since.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes an oil leak from the differential and corrosion on the lower rocker panels.
The car number UF2G50359BW, while the VIN on the current Illinois title is UF2G5039BW.
