This 1975 Jaguar XJ12C spent time in New York before being acquired by the seller out of Connecticut in 2011 as a running and driving project. A subsequent multi-year refurbishment involved rebuilding the 5.3-liter fuel-injected V12, installing a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, refreshing the paint and interior, and overhauling the chassis and fuel system. Finished in silver over red leather upholstery, the car is equipped with a burl wood dashboard, air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, power windows, Smiths instrumentation, LED exterior lighting, 15” steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, limited-slip differential, and a dual exhaust system. Work performed in 2024 has included re-sealing the transmission and performing an oil change. Now showing 74k miles, this XJ12C is offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment records, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Jaguar offered the Series 2 XJ as a pillarless coupé from 1975 to 1978, and a vinyl roof covering was standard equipment. This example left the factory finished in silver and was repainted under prior ownership. The cowl, front valance, and left rear wheel arch were repaired and refinished under current ownership, the bumpers and exterior hardware were re-chromed, and the headlight bezels and badging were replaced. LED lighting has been fitted to the turn signals, taillights, and side markers, and the turn signal relay was replaced. Exterior details include quadruple headlights, chrome side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and black rubber bumper guards.

Chrome 15” steel wheels wear Growler-emblem hubcaps and are mounted with 205/70 Firestone Affinity narrow-whitewall tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted units out back, and the master cylinder and booster were rebuilt under current ownership. Flaking paint on the wheel recesses can be viewed in the gallery below.

The cabin was stripped during the refurbishment, the floors were repaired, and POR15 and sound-deadening material were applied before replacement carpets were installed. The rear bench seat was retrimmed in red leather, and the front bucket seats and door panels were repaired and refinished to match. Additional appointments include a burl wood dashboard fascia, power windows, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller notes that the air conditioning does not blow cold, and the indicators for the turn signals are inoperative. Fasteners are missing from the bottoms of the door panels.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and alternator output. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 5k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter V12 was rebuilt approximately ten years ago and is equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic electric fuel injection. The fuel tank vents and lines were repaired during the refurbishment, and a toggle switch to manually operate the cold-start injector was added below the left side of the dash. An oil change was performed in early 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a General Motors 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission that was installed under current ownership utilizing a lock-up torque converter and a John’s Cars conversion kit. The limited-slip differential was also replaced. The transmission was resealed in early 2024. An additional transmission is included in the sale, and is said to have been rebuilt approximately ten years ago.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors, equipment, and identification numbers and indicates that the car was dispatched to the US on May 16, 1975. The BW suffix is omitted from the VIN listed on the current Ohio title.
