This 1974 Jaguar XJ6L is a long wheelbase model that is powered by a Chevrolet 350ci V8 installed by the previous owner and equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold and 4bbl carburetor. It has been driven 300 miles since it was purchased by the seller in central California four months ago. The car was repainted in its original Primrose Yellow shade some time ago and it is now being offered for sale at no reserve with minimal service records and a clean California title in the seller's name.
The Primrose Yellow finish is an older repaint by a previous owner and shows some drips and minor surface cracks upon close inspection. According to the seller, there is no evidence of accident damage or prior repairs. Some rust-through is present in the driver's floor as detailed in the underbody photo below.
Factory wheels and caps are wrapped in Pirelli P400 whitewall tires that are reportedly in decent condition. A matching spare wheel is fitted with an older Cornell whitewall tire. A crack is noted in the windshield.
Inside, the seats appear to have been re-upholstered in a non-factory pattern some time ago. Felt trim around the door jams is separating, and the driver's door handle is inoperable from the interior. An Alpine head unit was added to the dash, and while the speedometer, odometer, and tachometer are said to work properly, the four auxiliary gauges work intermittently. The power windows are slow and the heater core is disconnected, and the 41k miles shown on the odometer are not believed accurate.
The Chevrolet 350ci V8 with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor was installed by a previous owner and is mated to an automatic gearbox. A BAR sticker in the engine compartment is shown. Minimal records are included, and no services have been performed by the seller during their four-month ownership. According to the seller, the car pulls slightly to the right under heavy braking and the starter occasionally doesn't engage the flywheel.
