This Jaguar Sovereign V12 was registered on 6th January 1986 as a demonstration vehicle for Beadles of Dartford. In November 1986 the car was sold to Mr C. Willats of Royston who subsequently kept the car until April 2012. All previous MoT certificates make up the comprehensive service history; the original handbooks are present with 15 stamps in the service book. Finished in sage green with doe-skin leather trim, this is a very genuine example of a car that was Jaguar's flagship model at the time. Described by the owner as 'like driving your favourite armchair' and supplied with a V5 registration document together with an MoT test certificate valid until 26th April 2013, this is a modern classic that will surely attract admirers for years to come.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
