1987 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas
63,050 miles, 4.2L, $16,999
One of the most celebrated brands in the luxury motoring world is Jaguar cars. Jaguar has been in the business of producing luxury cars since 1922 with their first proper car produced in 1935. This luxury car manufacturer is highly regarded for its XJ series of cars. The first XJ to roll off the assembly line was the 1968 Jaguar XJ Series 1 as a mid-size luxury car. Up for sale is a truly majestic 1987 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas with just 63,050 miles on the clock and available to be seen in the Sunshine State, Florida.
Vanden Plas denotes that this is 1987 Jaguar XJ6 is the upmarket and highest trim version of the car, and it’s finished off in a classy silver patina. The car sits gracefully on a set of OEM two-tone painted wheels with the Jaguar head logo on the hubcaps. The front fascia of the car features the distinctive quad headlights and the silver leaping Jaguar hood ornament with the chrome grille. The front and rear bumpers are a combination of rubber and chrome. The front fenders are host to more of the leaping jaguar logo whilst the rear features the Jaguar name and the Vanden Plas trim model. As the highest trim level, Jaguar has not skimped on the chrome at any junction, the chrome design is also extended to the interior of the car where it is a combination of tan leather, wood grain trims, and chrome. Pride of place is taken up by a rather ubiquitous-looking two-spoke steering wheel in black, with the Jaguar head logo in the center, behind which rest the instrument cluster in the wood trim. The center console is host to more chrome and a cruise control switch located below the gear selector. It is reported that the interior is close to perfect.
Powering the 1987 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas is the 4.2L inline-six engine, whilst mated to a Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic transmission. This 4.2L came with the Bosch fuel injection system. The power rating is reported to be 205hp of power along with 231 lb. ft of torque. Disc brakes are present on both the front and the rear, while the front discs are ventilated. The top speed is limited to 124 mph.
