Bought new from Dealer and owned 37+ years, 26k miles, original , not restored, original title, maintenance file, mostly climate controlled storage, amazing survivor condition, original 30 day tag, 26916 miles

Bought new at Bishop Motors Jaguar Dealership. Driven more the 1st few years, spent over a decade in a heated, cooled, and pressurized storage facility with exotics and other big $$ cars. Serviced and most fluids changed out this year with A/C conversion to newer Freon and cools well. Owner bought new and confirmed is original mileage, no accidents, and has original Engine, Trans, and Rear end.

Believed to be the original paint as when owner took delivery from Dealer new

Mostly upper surfaces and between pin striping on each side, you will find paint cracking on most of the hood, top, and trunk panels. It shows up more under LED lighting then it does outside under sun or overcast (see all pics enlarged)

Finish is very smooth, highly polished and shiny, and seems to match properly all the way around car

Their are a few minor fine scratches that can be hardly seen and most likely could be improved by rubbing out if wanted (top RR door, RF fender, most significant) (see pics)

Between the headlight area you will find maybe 6 or so pin head size nicks from normal driving wear. Also chips LF door, trunk edge, R fuel fill, & couple more (see pics)

Note- you will see some white substance along the front edge of sunroof opening at rear. This is actually wax that didn’t get wiped off

Pin striping appears to be a decal style and not cleared over / coloring-upper tan and lower gold (meaning it could possible be remove if preferred)(not 100% sure)

 Body

 Entire painted body appears to be just as it was produced new in terms of being straight and with correct gaps between panels. The only exception we could find is a small door ding in RR door.

This 1986 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas was acquired by its current owner when new at Bishop Motors in Barberton, Ohio, and it now shows 27k miles. The car is finished in black over beige leather and is equipped with a power-operated sunroof, disc brakes, and 15″ alloy wheels as well as automatic climate control, cruise control, and a digital trip computer. It is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and work performed in 2023 included converting the air conditioning system to utilize R134a refrigerant and replacing the fuel tank sending unit. This XJ6 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.

The black finish is accented by gold pinstriping and a “leaper” hood ornament. A power-operated sunroof, a power-retractable antenna, and polished dual exhaust outlets are additional exterior details. The seller notes aging and cracking on the horizontal paint surfaces and a ding in the right-rear door, and the rear window was replaced after it was broken by a thrown ball.

Black-accented 15″ alloy wheels wear 215/70 Yokohama AVID TRZ tires, which the seller notes have 2009 date codes and recommends replacing. Stopping power is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners, and a brake fluid flush was completed in 2023. The seller recommends that the tires be replaced.

Beige leather covering the front bucket seats extends to the the rear bench, center console, and door panel inserts, and is accented by woodgrain trim. The cabin is appointed with automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital trip computer, and an AM/FM stereo. The air conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant in 2023. The cassette player does not work.

The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 27k miles, all of which have been added under current ownership.

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. The fuel tank sending unit was replaced and the coolant was flushed in 2023, at which time the oil was changed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission.
