1986 JAGUAR XJ-6 SERIES III SALOON #SAJAV134XGC438285. On October 30, 1985, this car was purchased new at the local Jaguar dealer by John Elling, a serious and dedicated classic and vintage car collector from Oldwick, NJ. When we met Mr. Elling, he owned both a 1750 Zagato and a 2.9 litre Alfa Romeo, and T.37 Bugatti and a Speed Six Bentley. Upon his passing, we sold Mr. Elling's Bentley to Johannesburg, South Africa, where he had purchased it decades earlier, and his 1939 Cadillac "60-S" to a local collector. We also purchased this all-original Jaguar, then with 12,606 miles, which he had always kept in a climate-controlled garage and was as-new. We then sold the Jaguar to a Far Hills enthusiast who continued the pampered treatment of the car and has driven it fewer than 6,000 additional miles during his ten years of ownership.
