Sellers description:
Offered for sale by the California Automobile Museum

This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 was donated to the museum. It appears to be in good condition and it has a current smog certificate. We do not have any history on this vehicle.

Exterior
The paint on this vehicle presents well and has a nice shine to it. It has been repainted and there are some spots where there is some overspray. The body panels are all straight and appear to be mostly rust free. There is one spot that I found above the right rear tire that has some small bubbles starting to form. The bumpers are in good shape and they trim is complete on the vehicle. The lenses appear to be original and the left rear taillight lens has some cracking and the plastic has chipped away from age. The glass in the vehicle is complete and does not have any cracks.

Interior
The seats are in nice shape and comfortable. They do not have any rips or tears in them. The carpet is clean and is not overly worn for its age. The door panels are all complete and in nice shape. The headliner is complete but it is starting to sag in some spots and is starting to rip in the front by the sun visors. The wood panels on the dash are not is the best of shape, they have some cracking and the finish is starting to peel off. The plastic lenses on the lights on the B pillars have cracked and broken out from age.

Mechanical
This Jaguar seems to be mechanically sound. It starts right up and idles nicely. It does have an exhaust leak. This Jaguar passed smog with numbers just above the average for this vehicle. The automatic transmission shifts as it should. All of the gauges appear to be working correctly. The blinkers do not work on this vehicle; I checked the fuses and did not find one burned out so it may be the switch. The electric mirrors work but the passenger side one only goes in and out and not up and down. The AC does not blow cold air so it will need to be checked out.

Overview
Overall this Jaguar seems very solid. It seems to have been well taken care of.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
