This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 was reportedly sold new at Overseas Motors of Fort Worth, Texas, and was acquired by the seller out of a collection in 2015. The car is finished in Cirrus Grey over a Mulberry leather interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. New muffler sections were reportedly installed in October 2019, along with a new battery. This Series III XJ6 is now offered with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The seller states that the car was repainted in Cirrus Grey under previous ownership. Imperfections include paint chips along the door edges and on the left-front fender, as well as a bubble near the bottom of the rear window seal. The rear antenna has been removed but is included.

Stock 15″ wheels are mounted with 215/70 Arizonian Silver Edition III tires that were mounted during the seller’s ownership. The car is equipped with a sunroof.

The Mulberry interior features leather seats and wood dashboard trim. Interior equipment includes power steering, power locks and windows, air conditioning, cruise control, and a JVC AM/FM cassette stereo. The rear side windows and digital trip computer are said to work intermittently. The driver’s seat shows wear, and fading is noted on the carpets. The contacts for the power sunroof switch were reportedly removed and cleaned by the seller.

The six-digit odometer shows just under 65k miles, approximately 1,000 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.2-liter inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The AC thermal fuse was reportedly replaced by the seller, and a new battery was installed in October 2019. New muffler sections sare said to have been installed in October 2019.

The Carfax report shows no history of accidents or damage from February 1985 through February 2015. A 2015 odometer reading shows 65,013 miles, while the seller’s recent photos show 64,892 miles.

This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 was sold new at Overseas Motors of Fort Worth, Texas, and spent time in Arizona before being acquired by the seller on BaT in December 2019. The car is refinished in gray over red leather upholstery and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a power-operated sunroof, 15″ Kent alloy wheels, automatic climate control, and a Kenwood CD stereo. Work performed under current ownership included replacing the windshield, air conditioning compressor, steering gear, cruise control module, and transmission mount. This Series III XJ6 is offered at no reserve with a spare steering wheel, a photocopy of the window sticker, service records, manufacturer’s literature, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Cirrus Grey, the car was refinished and accented with red pinstripes under prior ownership. Four badges adorn the front grille, and other exterior details include a power-operated sunroof, dual fuel fillers, and bodyside molding. The windshield and power antenna were replaced under current ownership. Imperfections in the finish can be viewed in the gallery.

Kent 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with 215/70 Pirelli P4 Four Seasons tires showing 2019 production codes. Work performed in 2020 included replacing the brake pads and rotors along with the front shocks, ball joints, track rod ends, and rear coil springs. A replacement steering gear was fitted in February 2021, and the brake fluid was flushed in December 2022.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in red leather and complemented by replacement Wilton carpets. Wood veneer accents the dashboard, and amenities include automatic climate control, a Kenwood CD stereo, and an onboard computer. The left-rear window motor was replaced in January 2020, and a replacement cruise control module was installed in January 2022.

A replacement leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as auxiliary gauges displaying fuel level, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and oil pressure. The speedometer was repaired in 1987, and a replacement oil pressure gauge was installed in 2019. The six-digit odometer shows 71k miles, approximately 7k of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features Lucas-Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 176 horsepower. A replacement starter was installed in 2019, and service since 2020 included replacing the following components:

Radiator

Thermostat

Oil pressure sending unit

Battery

Windshield washer pump

Ignition rotor and distributor cap

Cooling hoses

Accessory belts

Work performed in preparation for the sale included replacing the air conditioning compressor and drier in addition to recharging the system with R134a refrigerant.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission mount was replaced in February 2023.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a manufacture date of November 21, 1984, along with factory colors and serial numbers.
