This 1983 Jaguar XJ6 is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed GM400 automatic transmission, both of which are said to have been sourced from a 1985 Jaguar XJS and installed under previous ownership. Additional work included refinishing the car in silver, replacing the black leather-trimmed seats, and fitting a two-piece driveshaft. Equipment includes Kent 15″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, cruise control, air conditioning, an onboard computer, power windows and locks, and a vintage-look Bluetooth radio. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with two sets of keys, manufacturer’s literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Rhodium Silver Metallic (MDE), and the seller states that it was repainted in 2011. Exterior details include a sunroof, quad headlights, a Leaper hood ornament, dual fuel fillers, a rear V12 badge, and dual exhaust outlets. Photos of the paintwork and finish are presented in the gallery.
Kent 15″ wheels are mounted with 215/65 Yokohama Avid Touring-S tires, and a full-size spare is located in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear units. The brake fluid was flushed in June 2023 according to the seller.
The replacement front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in black leather, and wood trim adorns the dashboard and center console. Additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows and door locks, cruise control, and a vintage-look Bluetooth radio. The seller notes the dashboard, cruise control components, and onboard computer were replaced in 2023. Cracks on the glovebox door wood trim and corrosion on the floor pans are present.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 115k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 was sourced from a 1985 Jaguar XJS and reportedly installed at Ronny’s Garage in Santa Ana, California, in 2011. The air filter and engine oil were changed in June 2023. The seller notes the cooling fan is cracked and needs replacement.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed GM400 automatic transmission that is said to have been obtained from a 1985 XJS and fitted in 2011. A two-piece fabricated driveshaft was also installed. Fluid leaks are noted.
A California Bureau of Automotive Repair label affixed to the door jamb lists a 5.3-liter engine from a 1985 Jaguar along with the VIN SAJAV134XDC361056, which matches the VIN on the vehicle. The car most recently passed a California emissions inspection in February 2023.
