Sellers description:
1983 Jaguar XJ6 with a 350 cid. Chevy engine conversion. I was told the engine was from a corvette. I do not have any specifics on the year and such. The car runs well and looks very nice. A couple minor dings. The norm for a car that is 27 years old. Everything works with the exception of two window switches. I think the contacts are dirty. Mechanically, the car is good. The power steering pump needs service. It was leaking, but Lucas Pwr steering oil remedied the leak. But upon start up, the belt squeels for about 5 seconds until the motor warms. The steering is choppy until the engine and pwr steer motor has warmed sufficiently for a few minutes, after which it works fine. Other than that I haven't had any problems, and the car handles nicely. Very tight, nice pick-up, and quick. I haven't had the car that long. I am selling as it is too much for me to handle as I have 2 other project cars, and I have "bitten off more than I can chew" as the saying goes. I dont wish to come across as being deceptive. This is an honest sale, and I want to be as straight forward as I can. I just don't know a lot about Jaguars or the popular Chevy conversions. This car I know was being worked on by a father and son team who sold it to a friend of mine after the father passed away. I then purchased the car from my friend. The info he gave me is what I have passed on here. It is a very nice looking car, and a great start for someone wishing to finish the resto which is 90% complete. The floors and trunk are solid. Very little if any rust on the car what so ever.
