This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 was initially sold by Jaguar Cleveland in Ohio, moved to North Carolina in 2013, and remained registered with a single owner from new until the selling dealer’s acquisition in January 2024. Now showing 54k miles, the car is finished in Moorland Green Metallic over Biscuit leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ alloy wheels, a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital trip computer, and a cassette stereo. Service in 2023 included replacing the fuel level sending unit, ignition coil, distributor cap, ignition wires, spark plugs, radiator cap, and two tires, flushing the coolant, and changing the oil. This Series III XJ6 is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with an introductory cassette, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title.
The car is finished in Moorland Green Metallic (HET) and features a “leaper” hood ornament, quad headlights, a sunroof, bright window trim and bumper accents, dual fuel filler doors, and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes scratches on the left doors and rear wheel arches and photos presented in the gallery show paint meter readings around the car.
Factory 15″ Kent wheels wear Jaguar-branded center caps and are wrapped in mismatched tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in Biscuit (ADE) leather contrasted by brown carpets. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels, and amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital trip computer, power windows, and a cassette stereo.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 54k miles. The fuel level sending unit was replaced in December 2023.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. Service in November 2023 consisted of replacing the ignition coil, distributor cap, ignition wires, spark plugs, and radiator cap, flushing the coolant, and changing the oil.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
