Seen on eBay, October 2008:

U.S.It is one of the most desirable and most beautiful Silver with a beautiful Burgundy and is an excellent condition . I searched High and Low for great XJ6 with documentation from a loving home and I finally found it. I Must sell the car and the main reason is not enough space and this is not a car I would even think about leaving outside for the winter and as you can see it has always been garaged ,so I'd hope to pass it on to another Jag Lover who will appreciate her as much as I and the 1st owner did .The original selling price in 1987 was $36,715 and they definitely don't make jags like this anymore so my asking price is well worth it for this extraordinary example. The car is 21 years old and is not perfect but it is not far from it and looks maybe half its age and looks better than most Jags on the street. Feel free to email me with any questions or offers you may have I will be happy to answer any you may have and can work with you if the car needs to be shipped,Good Luck "

Car to be at auction 6/12
www.bonhams.com/auctions/20165/lot/409/

Auction description:
3 Jun 2012 12:30 p.m. Greenwich, Connecticut
Collectors' Motorcars
Auction 20165
409
1987 Jaguar XJ6 Sedan
Chassis no. SAJAV1349HC475393
This four owner Series III four-door sedan has just over 67,000 miles on the clock. Carefully maintained and garaged since new, its reported to run and drive very well with 18,000 miles put on the car in only the last four years--a testament to how well the car has withstood the test of time. This XJ also features a factory sunroof, cruise control, and is loaded with the amenities that you'd expect in a British luxury saloon. Motivation comes from the venerable 4.2-liter inline six with Bosch fuel injection.

Finding a Jaguar XJ of this generation in this condition that drives as well as this one does is a rarity. Built in the final year of the Series III, it is lovely example that may be shown, driven, and enjoyed.

Estimate:
US$ 4,000 - 6,000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
