Seller's description:
1986 Jaguar XJ6. This is a Barn Find that we recently acquired from the original owner. The car has a genuine 12,326 original miles. The best part is that even though the car has extremely low miles, it was always started and driven on a semi regular basis, so it shouldn't suffer from any of the issues that arise on cars that have sat dormant for years.. The car runs and drives well and just passed the California smog inspection. Mechanically everything seems sound, the engine is smooth and quiet. The transmission shifts properly and there are no unusual sounds or other obvious issues. The only mechanical issues that I observed are: (1) The AC doesn't seem to engage although there is freon in the system. (2) sometimes the car is a little hard to start from cold, and (3) I did notice some form of a minor oil leak around the oil pan. Otherwise everything seems solid and these minor issues are to be expected on a car of this age. The exterior of the car still looks very nice. The original paint still has a nice shine. I did not do any detailing or polishing but if one were so inclined I think that would bring the paint out even more. There are no dents or signs of rust anywhere on the body. There is one small nick about 1 inch long where the paint is damaged. I'm sure there are some very minor scratches and small paint blemishes here and there but nothing that's easily noticed.. The underside of the car shows no damage or rust. The interior of the car is very clean. The seats are like new. The carpet and door panels are excellent. The dash has No cracks or discoloration. The only negative on the interior is the headliner, which is starting to sag slightly. Overall a very clean and mechanically sound classic Jaguar. The car has a clean and original title from 1986.

This 1986 Jaguar XJ6 is a Series III sedan that is finished in Claret Metallic over Biscuit leather interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter XK inline-six paired with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, automatic climate control, cruise control, a power-operated sunroof, and a digital trip computer as well as power windows, locks, and exterior mirrors. The car was reportedly sold new from British Auto Distributors in San Francisco, California, and is said to have remained with its first owner until it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. This XJ6 shows 13k miles and is offered in Arizona with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The body is finished in Claret Metallic (CEA) with gold pinstriping and features bright exterior trim, a “leaper” hood ornament, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The seller states that the top of the driver-side rear quarter panel has been repainted, and there is a chip on the edge of the hood on the passenger side, as well as a chip that has been touched up on the driver-side rear lower quarter panel.
Factory 15″ alloy wheels with black inserts and Jaguar center caps wear Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II thin-whitewall tires. A full-size spare is located in the truck. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs.
The cabin is upholstered in Biscuit leather (ADE) with matching carpets and burl walnut veneers on the dash, center stack, and door panels. Equipment includes a power sunroof, an adjustable steering column, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a digital trip computer.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with 5k-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. Approximately 13k miles are shown on the six-digit odometer.
The fuel-injected 4.2-liter inline-six was rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque when new. The selling dealer states that recent service includes an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs and oil filter.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission. The brake, coolant and transmission fluids were reportedly serviced in preparation for the sale. Manufacturer’s literature, brochures, tools, and two sets of keys are included in the sale.
