Ebay item 6/30/10 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XJ6-1987-Jaguar-XJ6-Classy-Cali-Car-63K-miles-War ...
Current bid $1,910, no reserve, 20 bids 1 day left in auction.
Sellers description:
This is a beautiful Classic XJ6 with the highly desired series III body that starts, runs, and drives and still turns heads. It was a California new car store trade in and we couldn't resist buying it because of how clean and nice it is. It has SUPER LOW MILES at just 63K, and overall this car is in better than average condition from exterior, to interior, to mechanics for a 1987.
Mechanically speaking everything powertrain-wise on this cars seems to be in working order. There are no check engine or mechanical warning lights and the transmission shifts smoothly. All the power options work including the driver seat which powers up and down, sunroof, antenna, wipers, blinkers, but the power window on the rear passenger side sometimes doesn't work- you have to fiddle with the switch a bit- but it seems like a new switch would do the trick which is a cheap repair since the motor still works. The AC system turns on and blows but is not getting cold. I am still trying to see if it is a thermostat issue or the condensor- whatever the case if you want it repaired I can get it done at my dealer rates if you win the auction. The tires have pretty good tread but are mismatched.
The body and paint are in excellent condition- it looks like it has had one respray in the original factory color. No scratches, dents, etc. she looks great. The carfax shows no signs of accidents and our inspection showed the same. The fog lights need new bulbs and one needs glass but the other headlights all work.
The interior looks original and is in good condition overall, the only issues I noted were minor including some trim that is loose around the headliner, a few harwarde screws missing, a couple of seatbelt receivers need fixing, and they typical cracks in the laquer on the wood trim. The panels and seats look very clean with a little wear- one spot where there is some adheisive on the passenger front seat which should come off with a little work, I didn't want to try too hard becasue I don't have the right cleaners to take it out without damaging the leather. There are a few small stitches in the seams of the front seats that are coming out too- nothing major though as this car looks very nice for an 87. The consoles are clean and all the buttons work . The ODO seems to work fine and carfax confirms the mileage is accurate. I personally wouldn't hesitate to jump in this car and drive it across the country as it seems very relible as is.
