Lot #130890

This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 was acquired by the selling dealer in August 2023 following registration history in Texas and Vermont, and it now shows 34k miles. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Grosvenor Brown over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and power accessories. This XJ6 is offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean new Jersey title.

The car is finished in Grosvenor Brown with bright bumper accents and trim. Exterior details include a sunroof, a sunroof visor, a telescopic antenna, a “leaper” hood ornament, dual exhaust outlets, and quad headlights with chrome bezels.

The 15″ alloy wheels feature black recesses as well as Jaguar center caps and are mounted with 215/70 Pirelli P4000 tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in beige leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Wood veneer trim accents the dashboard and center stack, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a rear-window defogger, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and power windows, locks, and mirrors.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 34k miles.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features Lucas-Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 176 horsepower. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
