Car to be at auction 7/14

Auction description:
Lot 208
French title
Chassis n° 2R54242BW

- Two owners, current owner since 1982
- Lovely presentation
- Outstanding V12 engine

This Jaguar saloon was bought in 1982 from the original owner, a Parisian entrepreneur and is a two-owner car. The current owner has driven it on a daily basis as well as on holidays when it has been used to tow a caravan. The tow-bar is still attached. A large file of invoices records the regular maintenance this car has enjoyed, having been used on a daily basis. In midnight blue with patinated beige leather interior, it comes with automatic gearbox, air-conditioning and period Blaupunkt radio. The odometer reads 10,744 km but given the service history, this is likely to be 210,744 km, which is a testament to the robustness of the engineering when used and maintained properly. The car is being sold without technical inspection (MOT). The car drives, but we have noticed that the coolant is leaking when the engine turns, thus requiring a thorough overhaul. With 285 bhp available from a V12 engine that is unbelievably smooth, this Jaguar saloon still offers a level of luxury and comfort that is hard to match today.

Estimation 3 000 - 5 000 €

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
