I have known this car from the day it was delivered to my friends Grandfather. I am the second owner and the car has been cosseted all its life. Always garaged in a heated facility it has covered only 39,000 miles. It is a remarkable time warp and reference car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
