Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer

This 1972 Jaguar XJ6 is finished in silver over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes air conditioning, a CD stereo, power steering, and power brakes. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in early 2021, and work in preparation for the sale has included an oil change, a transmission service, and replacement of the radiator hoses. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with a clean Idaho title.

The car is said to have been repainted in its present shade of silver under prior ownership. Features include a driver-side mirror, a power-retractable antenna, dual fuel fillers, and chrome bumpers with overriders.

Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear factory hubcaps and are wrapped in 205/70 Bridgestone Insignia SE tires showing 2005 production codes. The car is equipped with power steering and brakes.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather with matching door panels and carpets as well as burl wood trim on the dashboard and doors. Amenities include a JVC CD stereo, air conditioning, and power windows.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,000-rpm redline, while gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dash along with a clock. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, and true mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Work in November 2021 included an oil change, a transmission service, and replacement of the radiator hoses.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
