Ebay item 8/24/19www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Jaguar-XJ6/233320345060
Current bid: $3,050, no reserve, 16 bids 5 days left in auction, seller california901, 47k miles.
Seller's description:
I bought this XJ6 for its amazing paint condition and the rest of the car is just as nice. The previous owner put a ton of money into this car back in the 1980's. It was fully restored to new with a no expense spared restoration. I have a letter from the previous owners daughter with details on his ownership and the restoration. At the time of restoring the owner decided to install a more powerful and reliable small block Chevrolet V-8 engine which runs excellent and smooth. It was used sparingly for the last 30 years and kept covered in a garage. No rust or accidents from what we have seen.
Im the 3rd owner as I purchased this Jaguar here in Los Angeles from a TV producer who featured this XJ6 in a new Tyler Hoover show on FYI called Car Issues. The episode will be coming out in the next few months but you can see the car being driven on the preview.
At the time the TV show bought the Jaguar last year, they spent around $8000 getting it back road worthy. I have a bunch of receipts from this including one for $3871.91 last year. New tires were installed all around. New carburetor installed, fuel tanks and lines all cleaned out, all gauges made operational, brake work, new air conditioner compressor and parts although they never finished with the AC system. It is a very impressive ride on the highway, powerful silky smooth and drives straight as an arrow. The handling is even pretty good for a vintage vehicle.
The engine bay is super clean and tidy with no oil leaks or debris.
The chrome is all in excellent shape and bright as it was when new.
The grey interior is nice with no rips or tears in the seats. Door panels look great. Excellent carpets and floor mats.
Wood paneling is nice and has a few small imperfections. Retractable seat belts in front and standard in rear. Electric windows all work well with good glass.
All gauges and electronics work well. The owner had an extremely expensive stereo system installed as well in 1985 at the cost of over $4000 at the time. It has the first ever model Sony in dash CD player and tuner with amps, subwoofers, polk audio speakers etc, high end old school stereo. The tuner still works well and the speaker work although they probably should be replaced due to age, the CD player I have not been successful at getting it to play.
It comes with the original spare tire, 2 car covers, an extra set of front and rear chrome window molding and a few miscellaneous parts.
Great classic for the money.
Clear California title and registration until next year. Both California Black custom license plates come with the car!
