for sale Cummins cars, Sydney Australia:

1971 Jaguar XJ6 series one 4.2. Sable with Biscuit leather. 79,937 miles. Vin 1L19549BW.

This super early Jaguar XJ6 was delivered by Bryson's to a lady in Cremorne in 1971. It was ordered with automatic transmission, power steering, leather upholstery, electric windows, head rests, door mirrors and air-conditioning.Bryson's installed an HMV radio before delivery. Finished in the "oh so 1970's" Sable brown and biscuit trim.

The car remains in great condition today, never rusted or repaired. Most of the paint is original as applied by the Jaguar factory. The interior has recently been re upholstered in the correct colour leather and the headliner is also new. The carpets are original and in fine condition. A full service history comes with the car including its original service wallet, service log book, Jaguar warranty card, owners hand book, radio hand book and supplementary instructions for the air-conditioning and Model 12 gearbox. All lovely things to have.

The air-conditioning has recently been overhauled and converted to the new gas. The engine excellent oil pressure and a new water pump was recently fitted. The transmission was overhauled a few years ago and operates as it should. In all the car has been very well looked after and drives very nicely.

These early Jaguar XJ6's are hard to find in this condition. They drive like a modern and make a great everyday classic. This car benefits from rare factory air-conditioning and the early chrome ringed dials. When new they set a new high standard in ride quality, safety and performance. Features that are still relevant today.
Price $17,950

Motor fully reconditioned including machined block and heads; new piston rings; crank bearings; gaskets; valve guides; lightened fly wheel; short skirt pistons and any part requiring replacement was done. All new fluids. SU 2" carbs replaced with new kits. 2) Rekitted brakes front and rear. 3) Rebuilt brake master cylinder and booster 4) New Monroe front shock absorbers 5) Recon radiator and new hoses 6) Exhaust repairs 7) Original rare fitted integrated aircon (not aftermarket vents) has new compressor; pipework and condenser. Works REALLY well, even demistor in the rain. 8) New washer bottle 9) New battery 10) Newish large capacity alternator 11) New horns. The original engine block and alloy parts were amazingly corrosion free, a testament to careful ownership and good service history. The body is straight and rust free.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
